Layered paintings by L. Lee Ligocki

Marshall J. Gardner Center For The Arts

LAYERS is an exhibit that surrenders my sense of “what if” regarding life. I am in layers: consequently, layers of emotions, layers of life’s experiences, layers of visual stimulus, and layers of colors always experiencing, absorbing, and processing the past, the present, and the future. LAYERS is a body of work that has separated different viewpoints by color and visual glyphs of an experience then combined each one into one cohesive statement. LAYERS allows viewers to digest one visual layer at a time, the depth of the experience and color phenomena through the physical process of shifting layers. The work invokes color visual stimulus, mood experiences, sense of time, intimate viewpoints and dialogue.
