Artists’ Journey

Group art exhibit

Marshall J. Gardner Center For The Arts

This exhibit is a group show representing 15 artist who are members of  The Area Artists Association, based in Michigan City’s Lubeznik Center for the Arts. Exhibits by the group go back to the 1980s. Some of the members have been with the group since its conception, To assure quality, every artist who wishes to join the group must have their work juried in order to become a member. Their members have won multiple awards in regional juried art exhibits in Indiana.

Their artists hail from Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan and Chicago. Several are Chicago transplants. All are accomplished in their discipline of choice. There are: photographers, printmakers, painters who work in oil, acrylic and watercolor, collages, fiber, mixed media, pastel, pen and pencil, digital and fractal artists. One member, a wood turner, at times uses mixed textures such as rice and ground paper money in his work.  Both figurative and abstract artist, as well as 2D and 3D art will be included.

The variety of medium, and the quality of Area Artists Association work will ensure an excellent exhibit as there will be something for everyone!
