This class teaches students the fundamental techniques and skills necessary to reupholster a simple dining chair. Learn to deconstruct and re-cover a slip seat, and see demos on webbing, piping, and other techniques you can use at home!Suitable for beginners with little to no upholstery experience, as well as those looking to refresh their skills.Practice chairs, tools, and fabric will be provided. $50

Instructor Jamika Smith is the founder of Teena’s Legacy, a not-for-profit charitable organization whose mission is to create a safe space for young women and women in general to explore their authentic selves using upholstery as a conduit for self-reflection, self-expression, and economic transformation. She is also the CEO of Affirm My Design LLC, which provides a holistic approach to the upholstery and home décor industry. Not only does she assist in your upholstery needs, but she’s also able to use upholstery as a tool to help individuals recreate themselves anew.
