Chris Toepfer is bringing back the popular Art From Excess exhibit, but as a solo show featuring over 70 pieces of art created from found objects. Chris creates beautiful 2D and 3D pieces out of every day items including metal shavings, screws, and other recycled items. This exhibition opens May 1st with an Opening Reception from 6-8pm and includes an Artist Talk from 6:30-7pm. There will be another Artist Talk on Sunday May 16th from 2:30-3pm, and a Plein Air Competition will be held May 29th. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays 6-8pm and Sundays 2-4pm through May 30th.
A $5 entry fee is requested because of the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on the finances of the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District.
COVID-19 safety To ensure everyone’s safety, staff and visitors ages two and older are required to wear masks and practice physical distancing, and the number of visitors may be limited to allow for social distancing. The art center is a 5,000 sq ft facility, and the MBACD has implemented more frequent cleaning measures and adopted additional safety protocols for visitors and staff.
