The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District strives to be a dynamic hub of creative cultural and economic activity that transforms the unique community and environment of Miller into a vital part of the city of Gary and the surrounding region. We convene artists of all media and local commercial interests, and serves as a prototype for community redevelopment.
We invite you to become involved in whichever way you feel most comfortable – such as exhibiting, performing, volunteering, serving on a committee, teaching a class or workshop, donating to help fund operations and programming, sponsoring a specific event, attending an event, and more!
The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District was inducted into The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana last night, for our efforts of using art as a catalyst in the regeneration of our community with the hope to improve the local economy, attracting new investments and businesses, providing unique educational and entertainment opportunities, and improving the livability of the neighborhood. Since the district’s inception in 2011, 14 new businesses have opened, property values have increased, and the quality of life has improved. \"The MBACD is creating a dynamic hub of creative cultural and economic development as a vital part of Gary\", said nominator O’Merrial Butchee.
There were lots of great initiatives started by some awesome people in the room. We are honored to be amongst them. Thanks to our spectacular team of volunteers, collaborators and supporters for making it all happen!
