Committees

Strategic Action Committees set the overall strategy for the key areas of focus in the MBACD’s strategic plan. They monitor, update, and provide some operational activities for ongoing undertakings.

Community Outreach & Diversity: To ensure we are attracting and are inclusive of a wide range of demographics (age, socio-economic, ethnicity, location, etc.), reach more artists (e.g. classes, artist studios, artist residencies, internships, etc.) Contact Irene Smith-King for more information or to join this committee.

Financial Health & Fundraising: Create a sustainable plan for the organization’s health, raise funds Contact Tim Petrites for more information or to join this committee.

Properties & Use Finish repairs and improvements on properties, determine best ways to use the properties from a physical (not programming) perspective. Contact Gene Ayers for more information or to join this committee.


Operational Committees are responsible for the day-to-day work required to run the organization.

Executive Committee: Officers of the Board, Board Governance

Events/Marketing/Fundraising: Plan, implement, advertise, and raise money for events Contact Ann Rose for more information or to join this committee.

Grants: Write, submit and administer grants, proactively look for more funding sources Contact Deb Backhus for more information or to join this committee.

Planning: Longer term, strategic activities such as possible TOD, lodge at Lake Street, building infrastructure needs Contact Gene Ayers for more information or to join this committee.
