Moving 'Out Here' to Miller

Marshall J. Gardner Center For The Arts

Join us at the Miller Beach Arts & Creative District for the Opening Reception of our photography and story exhibit  in recognition of Black History Month.  We will be sharing interviews & portraits of members of the Miller community who moved from other parts of Gary and the NWI Region to Miller from 1964 to 1976.

Ten questions were asked about their move, their experience, and their reflections on life in Miller.  The exhibit presents the essence of their answers and their portraits.

Additionally, the exhibit will showcase a Miller artist, Edna L Freeman, as a “Hidden Gem”.  Colorful paintings drawn from her life are to be presented in the gallery.
