Please join us in celebrating Black History Month with paintings, drawings, apparel, sculpture photographs and artifacts from around the world. The collection exhibited in the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts are on loan from individuals throughout Northwest Indiana who have purchased, been gifted, travelled to various African countries to hand select or commission, or created these pieces themselves. There are stories attached to each of them, and hopefully you will have a chance to speak to some of the collectors of these unique and beautiful items at the Closing Reception.
The exhibit encompassing 68 pieces of work from 20 artists and 16 donors was organized by Irene Smith-King, Sheila Moss and Meg Roman, and the beautiful installation was accomplished by Garry Henderson and Larry Lapidus.
This is a Free event and everyone is welcome!
-Exhibit runs Fridays and Saturdays 6-9pm and Sundays 1-4pm through February 25th
