Shape Games is a selection of recent works by artists Catherine Sollman and Teniea Dilosa. Sollman’s recent abstract works on paper, primarily miniature gouache paintings and monoprints investigate color, repetition, and chance encounters. Some images remain resolutely abstract, while others drift toward suggestions of bodily structures, landscapes, and invented spaces. Dilosa’s paintings, a collection of geometric abstract works, celebrate the overlooked beauty of everyday life that explores the relationship between order and freedom, planning and spontaneity. Inspired by the artist’s experiences of marriage, motherhood, and family, each composition reflects moments of connection, growth, and gratitude without relying on literal imagery. Exhibit runs Sept 4 – Oct 9.
Artist Talk Sept 13, 2 pm
Teneia Dilosa is an abstract artist based in Valparaiso, Indiana, and a proud Gary native. After leaving Purdue University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program to pursue a career in entrepreneurship and art, she founded Heart to Canvas LLC, where she creates original paintings that merge precision with emotion. Since returning to painting in 2016, her work has been featured in juried exhibitions and gallery shows while continuing to expand into corporate, hospitality, and public art spaces.
Catherine Sollman (b. 1972) is a printmaker, painter, and teaching artist whose small-scale works on paper emphasize geometry and color play. A Wisconsin native and 2002 graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she lives and works on Chicago’s West Side and in Gary, IN. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States including the Highpoint Center for Printmaking (Minneapolis, MN), Mixografia (Los Angeles, CA), Print Austin (Austin, TX), Moreau Gallery at St. Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN), Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago, IL), and Anonymous Society (Redding, CT), as well as a 2025 solo exhibition, “Gut Symmetry,” at OS Projects in Racine, WI. She was a 2024 resident at Weir Farm National Historic Park and a 2026 Artist-in-Residence at PenArt (Fish Creek, WI)
