More than a collective, CISA represents a mentality shaped by resilience, community, and authenticity. For over four decades, they have transformed the region’s public art landscape, grounding their work in place-based storytelling.\nCISA originated from the In Style Artists (ISA), an early graffiti crew nearly 100 members strong, driven by competitive camaraderie and a commitment to refining technique. Their shift from ISA to CISA marked a transition from street practice to a broader creative network centered on murals, public installations, pop‑up exhibitions, and live painting events—projects that reclaim overlooked spaces and place art directly within everyday environments.\nThe group reflects Northwest Indiana’s distinct visual language, shaped by post-industrial terrain, working-class histories, and urban culture.
