Miller Beach Arts & Creative District is a volunteer-based organization in Miller Beach, Gary, Indiana. MBACD created Made In Miller to bring awareness to all the wonderful projects the great people of Gary are doing here. MBACD manages two projects: The Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts and the Miller Beach Farmers Market.

Noon Opening of Art Shay photography exhibit
1:00 speeches by Bettina Drew, Algren biographer; Peter Alter of Chicago History Museum; and Hugh Iglarsh of the Nelson Algren Committee of Chicago. Algren readings will occur between speeches
3:30 Panel discussion with questions from the audience
4:00 Dedication of Nelson Algren pocket park followed by Treasure Hunt on Lake Street chance to win Nelson Algren reading kit
6:00 Music by Frankie Machine Blues Band
Tickets for Saturday’s are $20 which includes entrance to all Saturday events.
